My question is this - why is it that people in the US go overboard with Christmas? It is not that bad in South Africa - hardly anyone does cards and gifts are not such a huge thing, but food - oh yes, we do food!

I don't have any real issue with organizing. I've downsized a lot in the las few years and tried to eliminate situations that are stressful. Also, I've made a big effort to simplify the holidays in the last few years.
