Quick Organizing: Magazines

Do you feel like you just don't have a lot time to devote to organizing? No problem! You can schedule mini organizing session with yourself to tackle small projects. These mini tasks may give you the motivation to tackle larger organizing projects.

I've come up with 8 simple home organizing projects that you can do in 20 minutes or less. I'll be sharing these quick project with you during the next few weeks.

Project #1

Weed through that magazine pile and keep only the last 2 months' issues. Straighten up the pile or put them in a decorative basket. Re-evaluate the subscriptions you are getting. If you find you just have the time to read all the magazines, decide which one you will no longer receive.

I had to do this with my photoshop magazines - I felt awful throwing them out but objectively, I knew I'd never read them again.

I actually have a cabinet in my bathroom filled with unread magazines! Love your idea of mini-organization sessions.

Mini-organization sessions are a great idea!! I've recently started to become more organized (thanks to a lot of your posts and encouragement). I get so many magazines in the mail so I have a stack for the ones I haven't read yet and then the ones I have read, I go through and clip out any little things I want to save and then I toss them into the recycling bin. I have a little file folders for recipes, websites, kid stuff where I put the clippings for future reference!

Good idea! Sometimes I let perfectionism get in my way--if I don't have time to do a huge clean-out, I don't do anything. It's a good reminder to bite off little chunks at a time.
